Learning outcomes
To know modern scientific achievements in the sphere of labor law and intellectual property law. To know the principles of managing media organizations and the specifics of media management. To be able to demonstrate specialized skills/problem-solving skills necessary for conducting research and/or carrying out innovative activities in order to develop new knowledge and procedures in labor law and intellectual property rights protection. To develop a marketing plan and form a strategic media plan. To develop a business plan for the media. To conduct research of mass media, the essence of the processes of emergence, distribution and functioning of media. To prepare effective presentations of own ideas, projects and defend their arguments. Put forward effective constructive ideas independently and in a team and discuss them in working groups.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the basics of journalistic, publishing and editorial, production and advertising activities, the specifics of media production. 2. Elementary skills of working with scientific, educational and methodological sources, as well as with specialized Internet resources. 3. Skills with technologies for analyzing the effectiveness of activities in the field of communications.
Course content
The purpose of the course is to obtain and deepen the knowledge of certain sections of labor law and entrepreneurship, as well as the formation of students' practical skills for independent problem-solving related to the implementation of labor law norms and the protection of intellectual property rights, planning, development, implementation and organisation of media work taking into account trends in the development of the media industry. The course is designed to form the following students' abilities: to learn and master modern knowledge, to apply knowledge in practical situations; to understand the subject area and content of professional activity; to act socially responsibly and consciously; to develop and substantiate the business model of a media industry enterprise taking into account the specifics of the "dual" market and promising technological, product and organisational innovations; to organise the activities of the creative team of the media enterprise aimed at creating a competitive media product; to organise business processes of production, promotion and sales of media products and services and ensure sustainable development of enterprises.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course is divided into 6 content modules: first semester has two modules; second semester has four modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars or practical classes, independent work. The final form of assessment in each semester is an exam. Knowledge monitoring is carried out according to the ECTS system, which involves a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 40 per cent of the total score, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility), which accounts for 60 per cent of the total score.
