PRN13. Possess system programming languages and methods of developing programs that interact with computer system components, demonstrate knowledge of network technologies, computer network architecture and practical skills in computer network administration technology and their software.

Course content
Part 1. Organization of telecommunication networks
Topic 1. Classification of communication networks (communication and its types; methods of data transmission; classification of telecommunication networks; types of switching, network topology).
Topic 2. Network standards, OSI reference model (standardization in networks; ISO/OSI reference model of interaction; network protocol).
Topic 3. Layers of the OSI model (physical layer, communication channel model; channel layer, work with frames; network layer; transport layer; session layer; presentation layer; application layer).
Topic 4. Principles of building global computer networks (main characteristics of computer networks; concept of a global network; Internet).
TCP/IP model. Independent work: elaboration of lecture material.
Topic 5. TCP/IP protocol stack (levels that correlate with the OSI reference model; stack levels).
Topic 6. Addressing system in the Internet (physical device address, ARP address resolution protocol; IP address; routing).
Topic 7. Addressing in IP networks Calculation of Ethernet network configuration.
Part 2. Management technologies in telecommunication networks
Topic 8. TCP/IP application layer. Application layer protocols (HTTP, SMTP, DNS, FTP).
Topic 9. Management technologies in computer networks (NAT technology; external and internal IP addresses).
Topic 10. Wireless networks, Wi-Fi.
Topic 11. Wireless networks of mobile radio communication (cellular communication; principle of operation and equipment; division of mobile communication technology into different generations).

- final evaluation: credit.
According to paragraphs 4.6.1 and 7.1.5 "Regulations on the organization of the educational process at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv" credit is given on the basis of current control (see semester evaluation) as the sum of grades/points for all successfully evaluated learning outcomes; grades below the minimum threshold level are not added to the final grade. All students are admitted to the exam.
