Learning outcomes
By writing a thesis, the student consolidates skills in the application of methods of stratigraphic dissection of Quaternary deposits, determination of genetic types of continental deposits, construction of maps of Quaternary deposits and correlation of sections, analysis of relief elements and forms and principles of construction of geomorphological maps, elucidation of dynamic manifestations of the latest tectonic movements, selection of morphostructural and morphosculptural features of the relief, application of remote sensing methods of the Earth for the analysis of geological and geomorphological processes, compilation of the geological and geomorphological profile of the day surface and determination of morphometric indicators of the relief.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possession of the academic discipline "Quaternary geology with the basics of geomorphology and data processing of remote sensing of the Earth"
Course content
The coursework is the final stage of the study of the course "Quaternary geology with the basics of geomorphology and processing of DZS". It is an important element of the student's educational work, who must demonstrate his ability to independently analyze a map of Quaternary deposits and, based on the performed analysis, draw conclusions about the nature of the development of the Quaternary period and the Quaternary system. This work, to a certain extent, prepares the student for research activities. It is aimed at the use of theoretical and applied geological and geomorphological studies to consolidate program competencies, which are directed to the further scientific and research work of the student. Special attention is paid to the principles and methods of processing geological and geomorphological information using geoinformation systems and remote sensing data.

Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differentiated assessment with a maximum score of 40 points, a cut-off score of 24 points, which includes the defense of the course work in the presented presentation of materials and an assessment of the processed material by topic - 60 points. Differentiated credit is given according to the results of the student's work, as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work throughout the entire period of writing the coursework and is mandatory.
