Learning outcomes
To know modern research analytical methods, geochemistry of the Earth, geochemistry of magmatic systems, isotope systems analysis (U-Pb, Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd and Lu-Hf system), be able to select the optimal analytical methods for current isotope system analysis, to apply the U-Pb, Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd and Lu-Hf isotope systems.

Students must have skills and knowledge related to Chemistry, Physics, Mineralogy and Petrography.
Course content
The main considered themes are (1) modern research analytical techniques (SIMS/SHRIMP, LA-ICP-MS), (2) modern approaches and concepts of main isotope systems (U-Pb, Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Lu-Hf) analysis (3) Earth’s temporal evolution based on isotope age determinations. Discipline is aimed at the self-study work of the students and finished by exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and provides for: passing 5 practical classes (where students must demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the tasks set using the methods outlined by the teacher) and solving the tasks without limiting the tools and techniques of solving the problem) and passed 2 written tests. The final grading is carried out in the form of a written Exam. Scheme of grading 1. Semester grading: 1) Module 1 - 10 points (passing grade is 6 points) 2) Module 2 - 10 points (passing grade is 6 points) 3) Grading for work at practical classes - 40 points (passing grade is 24 points) 2. Final examination in the form of the written test: maximum grade is 40 points, and the passing grade is 24 points. Results of educational activity of students grading are based on a 100 grading scale.
Assessment methods and criteria
Lectures, practical classes, consultations, self-work. Teaching methods are explanatory-illustrative, research, part-search and heuristic.
