Course content
The discipline is based on the need to understand the changes in the course of protest and centripetal movements since the 60s of the 20th century and assumes, first of all, the need to explain the phenomenon of protest and secessionist activity and identify their sources and factors. In particular, the indicators of socio-political tension and the destabilization index of the protest potential are analyzed. Theoretical models of revolutions of (post)industrial society and centrifugal movements are considered and compared with the specifics of revolutionary protests of the postmodern era, including the latest examples. Characteristic features of the latest revolutionary protests and secessionism are determined; the types of modern revolutions (revolutions (refolution), electoral revolutions (reelection), electronic revolutions (e-revolution)) and centrifugal movements are classified; emphasis is placed on the forms of modern protest struggle and culture. The domestic and global context of protest movements and secession is considered.
