Prerequisites and co-requisites
To effectively master the course content, students should have essential knowledge of the conceptual and categorial apparatus of discipline “Fundamentals of philosophy”; possess the ability to study literary sources describing the principles of the course “Philosophy of education” as well as key guiding national and international legal acts related to the educational domain; possess research skills to enable effective independent research work.
Course content
The course is designed to equip students with basic knowledge of philosophy of education which will enable their professional activities as researchers and academics; familiarizing students with the system of scientific tenets underpinning methodology and methods of instruction and educational activities; building students’ critical awareness of educational programmes, their content and implementation. Abstract. The course aims at competence of master students to lay principles of philosophy of education into the basis of scientific work, overview and analyze modern philosophical and methodological concepts of education; use methodology and methods of engineering the educational process ; build holistic understanding of education as a process , as benefit, as service and goods, as well as values in scientific and professional activity. It equipps students with researching skills, awareness of educational goals, the experience of preparing reports on different topics of the course.

The course total score is comprised of the scores attained for presentations at seminars and a test paper.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of works and the form of control (answers at seminars, tests). The final assessment is based on the results of student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional evaluation measures. Masters who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "passed". Masters who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not passed". Master students who scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must prepare material for the topics, which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent work forms, essays, or, if necessary, write a test.
