Prerequisites and co-requisites
To be eligible for the internship students are required to: study the following disciplines: Ukrainian literary studies of the 19th–20th centuries, Intellectual evolution of the Ukrainian literary language, Ukrainian linguistics of the 19th–20th centuries in the global context, Pedagogy, Information technologies, educational and methodological support of the process of teaching languages and literatures in high (senior) school, Methodological principles and modern concepts of teaching the Ukrainian language in high school. Besides, students have to know: the system of the Ukrainian language, be fluent in oral and written communication, be able to analyse linguistic and literary phenomena; theoretical and methodological fundamentals of teaching the Ukrainian language and literature; theoretical basics of modelling teaching technologies; be able: to effectively build the process of teaching the Ukrainian language and literature in accordance with the tasks and conditions of teaching.
Course content
Teaching internship aims to develop students' skills to work as a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature at a high specialized school, to develop, introduce and test their own technologies for teaching the Ukrainian language and literature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Passive practice (1 week) Attending and analysing a teacher's lessons (a student has to attend a teacher's lessons (15 in total) in those classes in which he/she will work as a teacher, get acquainted with the classes, and make psychological characteristics of the classes). Active practice (10 weeks) In order to work as a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature: a student has to give lessons of the Ukrainian language and literature. The total number of lessons should be at least 60. Development, introduction and testing of own teaching technology. Teaching 1-2 graded lessons in the Ukrainian language, 1-2 graded lessons in the Ukrainian literature. Preparation of final documentation Writing a psychological description of the class. Development of a lesson plan summary. Protection of reporting documentation. Participation in the discussion of the results of teaching internship. The discipline has to be completed with a graded test.
Assessment methods and criteria
A final grade for a course consists of points earned during the teaching internship period: 1) passive practice (15 points); 2) active practice (67 points). Each lesson attended by a student during the internship period has to be assessed in 1 point: 15 lessons Í 1 = 15 points. Each given lesson has to be assessed in 1 point: 150 lessons Í 1 = 150 points, which are proportionally converted to the scale, in which the highest point is 67; 3) psychological characteristics of the class (5 points); 4) plan summary of graded lessons (8 points); 5) presenting of reporting documentation (5 points). A student may score a maximum of 100 points and a minimum of 60 points upon the results of studies: LO 1.1-1.4; LO 2.1-2.7; LO 3.1-3.3, LO 4.1-4.6.
