Prerequisites and co-requisites
Primary historical events, artistic, scientific, and political changes in Western Europe, USA as well as Latin America in the 20th – at the beginning of the 21s century; basic points within the Current Syllabi for teaching foreign literature at secondary schools in Ukraine, namely its multicultural and comparative components.
Course content
The subject of the discipline is postcolonial criticism as an effective contemporary pedagogical methodology, as well as literary phenomena in Great Britain, France and a range of countries in Western Europe in the 20th – at the beginning of the 21s century in the context of colonial and postcolonial history and art. The aim of the course is to present postcolonial literary discourse of the cultural areas above in the lights of pedagogical strategies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms and methods of teaching: lectures and practical classes (recitations). Proceedings: evaluation of student performance at practical classes, preparing and demonstrating of the multimedia presentation, performance within the two tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final estimation mark for the course appears as a sum of current control estimation and does not require any additional form of final control. The forms of current control cover student performance at practical classes (max 50 / min 30 points), preparing and demonstrating of the multimedia presentation (max 20 / min 10 points), and performance during two tests (max 30 / min 20 points). In sum, the forms of final estimation appear in correlation as max 100 / min 60 points. Those students who did not reach the mark of min 60 points are supposed to accomplish additional final written test.
