Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Confidently know the state and foreign languages for the realization of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present the results of research in the state and foreign languages.
PLO 6. Apply knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech technique to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication.
PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres in the field of Japanese philology.
PLO 14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO 20. Apply the acquired knowledge, formed skills and abilities of translation for oral and written translation of texts of different genres and styles from Japanese and English into Ukrainian and vice versa.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) fluency in the state and Japanese languages;
2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of professional and corporate ethics;
3) successful mastering of the disciplines "Oriental language: advanced level", "Oriental language: functional level", "Lexicology of the first Oriental language", etc.
Course content
The compulsory discipline EK.09 "Japanese honorific speech (taigu hyogen). Business communication etiquette in Japan" is taught in the fourth semester and consists of 7 credits, 210 hours (48 hours of practical sessions and 162 hours of self-study). Final control form – pass-fail test. The course is intended to develop linguistic skills and abilities necessary for successful written and oral business communication in Japanese, i.e., during telephone conversations, speeches and presentations, debates, business meetings and negotiations, when working with business papers, etc.; to familiarize with the features of Japanese business culture, business etiquette and nonverbal means of corporate communication.

Blitz questioning, test tasks, presentation, module control work, pass-fail test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Module control work:
Test part - 5 points: includes 10 test questions, the correct answer to each of which is estimated at 0.5 points.
Questions on polite Japanese speech and etiquette of business communication (in Japanese) - 5 points: the student is offered 5 open questions in Japanese, the correct answer to each of which is evaluated in 5 points.
Pass-fail test:
The oral and written test consists of two tasks according to the course content:
1) questions about polite Japanese speech and etiquette of business communication (in Japanese) (maximum score - 10 points);
2) a task to fill in the gaps in the text (maximum score - 10 points).
