PLO 1: Evaluate own educational, scientific and professional activities, build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 3. Apply modern methodologies and technologies, including information technologies, for successful and effective professional activity and quality assurance of research in a specific philological field. PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 12. Follow the rules of academic integrity. PLO 15. Choose optimal research approaches and methods for the analysis of specific linguistic or literary material. PLO 17. Plan, organize, implement and present research and/or innovative developments in the field of philology.

General theoretical training obtained within the framework of bachelor's educational programs.

is a compulsory discipline for master students of all educational programs of the Institute of philology. The discipline is taught in the first or second semester (according to The curriculum of a particular educational program) in the amount of 90 hours (among them are 16 hours of lectures, 14 hours of seminars and 60 hours of independent work). Its subject is the modern methodology of science, a complex of methodological tools of science, in particular philology, as well as intellectual property rights and commercialization of intellectual activity. The discipline consists of three content modules. The module "Methodology of scientific research" creates an awareness of science as a research, reveals the meaning of the concepts of "methodology", "methodics", "research methods", introduces the specific scientific, general scientific and philosophical levels of methodology. The module "Theoretical foundations of philological research" forms students' knowledge of the main linguistic and / or literary (depending on the specifics of a particular EP) directions and their development in the domestic and foreign territories, an overview of the diversity of methodological approaches in philology at the present stage as a whole; promotes the acquisition of skills in recognizing general scientific analytical approaches; demonstrates a consistent change in the dominance of the main scientific paradigms in the history of philology. The module "Fundamentals of intellectual property" reveals the role of intellectual property as intellectual capital in the socio-economic development of society and its place in the humanities, introduces the main forms and mechanisms of commercialization of intellectual activity.

Assessment of theoretical knowledge and skills takes place systematically during the semester, in accordance with the thematic plan of classes. At the end of the first and third modules, module tests are conducted (2 in total) with theoretical and practical tasks on the knowledge of the methodological basis of scientific research (MCW 1) and on the knowledge of civil and legal legislation in the field of intellectual property (MCW 3). MCW 1 and MCW 2 can be conducted in the form of tests. The final evaluation takes into account the student's mastery of the discipline at all levels.
