Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the theoretical foundations of anatomy and physiology of higher nervous activity, zoopsychology, psychology of sexuality, social psychology and personality psychology. 2. Have basic skills in research, search, processing and analysis of information from various sources, the use of information and communication technologies.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to give students the theoretical knowledge necessary to use evolutionary theory to explain mental phenomena and human behavior, their determinants, the context of origin and development. The content of the course is revealed in three modules. The first module deals with evolutionary explanations of cognitive processes, emotions, personality and behavior, their history and discussions of relevance, structure of analysis of psychological phenomena in evolutionary psychology, basic concepts of evolutionary psychology, including survival and reproduction, adaptation, byproduct of evolutionary process and «mismatch». The second module focuses on the evolutionary view of human sexuality and family relationships. The topics of the third module are related to social psychology, considered from an evolutionary point of view, based on empirical research of recent decades.

Lection, seminar, Individual work
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral reports, discussion, presentation, analytical essay. Semester assessment: answers and additions to seminars, analytical essay are evaluated. The grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester. Oral answer - from 12 to 20 points. Addition - from 6 to 10 points. Analytical essay - from 24 to 40 points. Evaluation organization: 0-59 - not credited, 60-100 credit.
