Learning outcomes
LO1. To analyze and interpret mental phenomena, identify psychological problems and suggest ways to resolve them. LO5. To select and use: valid and reliable psychological research and assessment methods (tests, questionnaires, projective techniques etc.); techniques of psychological help. LO6. To define the research purpose and the tasks, to have skills of collecting empirical data, to follow the research norms. LO7. To consider and critically evaluate the reliability of the results of the psychological research, make valid conclusions. LO8. To present results of own research orally / in writing for the professionals and nonprofessionals.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the history of the formation of psychology as a science, its subject and methods. 2. To be able to take notes on primary sources, compile a bibliography. 3. To have basic skills of formation of the main regulators of activity and behavior in a group on the basis of the studied discipline "Introduction to the specialty".
Course content
To provide practical training of students in the use of methods and techniques of research. Namely, mastering the knowledge of methods (observation, experiment, psychodiagnostic methods, analysis of products), the formation of skills to use methods and techniques of studying imagination, emotions and will and the development of skills to analyze results. Aim of practical work is to consolidate the provisions of basic scientific theories and demonstration of psychological mechanisms of sensory-perceptual organization of a person; to provide practical training of students in the use of methods and techniques of research of sensation and perception. Namely, mastering the knowledge of methods of research of sensation and perception (methods of classical psychophysics - the method of average error, the method of minimal change); formation of skills to use methods and techniques of studying sensations and perceptions; development of skills of analysis of the obtained results.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Individual work, mini-lecture, laboratory work, inclusion in the research group of laboratory work, discussion, analytical reviews of research, solving psychological problems.
Assessment methods and criteria
Test, practical and creative tasks, defence of reports for tasks, credit The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 and does not provide for additional assessment measures for successful students. For students who during the semester have not reached the minimum level of assessment (60% of the maximum possible number of points), a final semester test is carried out. Final assessment in the form of credit: the maximum number of points is 40, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the test). The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points.
