Learning outcomes
1.2 Know the content of the main categories of sociology of social change and theoretical interpretations of social change. 2.1To carry out theoretical interpretation of social change within modern concepts of social transformation. 2.2 Be able to identify, analyze and interpret social technologies in the socio-cultural changes of modern societies. 2.3 Critically read and interpret the results of comparative studies of trends in Ukrainian society with the corresponding trends in European societies. 3.1 Improving communication skills. 3.2 Present a research project.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know - the specifics of the sociological approach to the study of society and social problems; have basic knowledge of the methodology of sociological research; to possess the conceptual apparatus of sociological theory. Be able - use sources of empirical information, understand the nature and significance of social іndicators. Have the skills of group work and public discussion.
Course content
Society in the context of social change. Social changes in the parameters of tradition and innovation (modernization). Modern societies and global transformations. Dynamics of changes in social institutions. Urbanization and social change. Social movements as agents of change. The main trends in Ukrainian society.
