Prerequisites for writing a master's thesis:  Successful mastering of the disciplines of ONP "Natural Geography".  Be able to give a comprehensive natural and geographical description of the territory, carry out the selection and critical analysis of informational and cartographic data data sources.  To know the basic quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, to be able to use them apply in production and research activities; be able to model objects and processes, using modern quantitative and qualitative methods methods and geoinformation technologies.

Master's qualification work an independent scientific study reflecting the progress and results of the development of the chosen topic. Master's theses are carried out according to a professional direction, and amount to 10 credits, i.e. 300 hours of independent student work. The master's thesis is a component of the final certification and is evaluated with taking into account the level and quality of the work performed, ownership presented in the defense student with knowledge of modern theories, concepts and paradigms, answer to question, conduct a scientific discussion. The master's qualification work includes:  systematization, consolidation, expansion of theoretical and practical knowledge of the chosen specialty and their application in solving specific problems tasks;  development of independent work skills (formation of students skills of searching, critical evaluation, preparation, organization and analysis various sources of information and data in order to solve the theoretical methodological and applied problems in the field of natural geography). In the case of defense of a master's qualification work (by professional direction) with professional qualification 2442.1 is awarded with a score of not less than 75 points – junior researcher (geography), 2442.2 – geographer (physical geography), 2447.2 - project and program management professionals.
