Learning outcomes
1. To apply methods of analysis for changes in the state of landscapes and regions in different scenarios of their development (PRS 2) 2. To know the basic methods of spatial information formalization and use the capabilities of geoinformation methods and technologies to solve applied environmental problems (PRS 4) 3. To organize monitoring and control the quality of the environment using contact and remote measurement methods (PRS 5) 4. Using knowledge of the principles of sustainable development, to develop scientifically based recommendations to support management decisions in the rational nature use (PRS 6) 5. To manage projects to attract financial, material and human resources from external sources for the implementation of projects aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development (PRS 12) (PRS 12)

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Advance claims to mastering or selection of the academic discipline 1. To know key principles of profile common-geographic academic disciplines and computer sciences. 2. To be able to apply the approaches of geographic modeling, geographic information systems and technologies, information networks and environmental management. 3. To possess the expertise in using of procedures for management of projects and programs in the scope of natural geography and in SDI development.
Course content
Annotation of the academic discipline: The discipline deals with general principles and approaches to GIS designing and technologies of: basic (initial) and strategic GIS designing; GIS software and hardware designing and operation and final GIS designing with examples of GIS development for the trans-boundary Danube and Dnipro River Basins.
