Prerequisites and co-requisites
2. Prerequisites for successful completion of the course:
2.1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Fundamentals of Geoecology",
"Biogeography", "Economic and social geography of the world", "Social and human
Geography", "Geoecological foundations of land management" and "Mizhnar
Environmental agreements".
2.2. To know the essence of global and regional geoecological problems of today
world; to understand the main worldview concepts of world development; consequences
of these threats to Ukraine and systemic approaches to overcoming them, taking into account
the role of the main civil groups.
2.3. To be able to understand the values of a free democratic society and the need for it
of sustainable development, to reveal the nature of the anthropogenic load on the "human" system
- society - nature", in case of lack of information.
Course content
Most environmental problems are transboundary and can only be effectively solved through
international cooperation. The discipline is aimed at studying best practices
international environmental cooperation that responds to the mitigation of three global
environmental pillars: climate change, biodiversity loss and inappropriate waste
management. The main educational program is deepening of theoretical knowledge about Global and
European environmental cooperation with international bodies and programs. IS
three target regions to be investigated: Baltic Sea Region (BSR), Alpine and
Carpathian regions. There are intergovernmental institutions and programs at the global level
representing the activities of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Better
the practice of cross-border international cooperation in Europe, implemented within the framework of the EU
The strategy for BSR is illustrated by the Swedish Institute's initial grant projects. The
of cross-border activities in the Alpine and Carpathian regions of Europe
Landscape Convention and the Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention. International
agreements are structured into the following clusters:
- International cooperation and SDG-2030
- Regional relations in EU neighboring countries
