Course content
The discipline consists of two parts: 1. Basics of geostatistics. 2. Fundamentals of geoinformatics.
Fundamentals of Geostatistics includes basic concepts of probability theory, examples of discrete and continuous random variables, multivariate random variables and correlation, statistical estimation, least squares, statistical hypothesis testing, spectral representation of random functions, and filtering. All mathematical concepts studied are illustrated by practical applications in geology.
"Fundamentals of Geoinformatics" is devoted to the study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of geoinformation technologies. The course provides students with the concept of information and geo-information systems. Raster and vector models of spatial data are studied; topological relations, data presentation models; data triangulation models.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical works, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Control involves conducting 6 practical works and 6 independent works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge) and 2 written control works in the 1st semester and conducting 14 practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge) and 2 written control works in the 2 th semester
Evaluation of the control form at the end of the 1st semester is carried out in a form that is calculated as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work during the semester and points obtained as a result of the final assessment in the credit form.
Evaluation of the form of control at the end of the 2nd semester is conducted in the form of a written exam.
