Learning outcomes
1.1. Know the main categories, concepts, forms of social policy used by Ukraine and the countries of the world, the essence, principles and main directions of social policy; 1.2. Know the mechanisms and tools of financing and implementation of social policy and directions of their transformation at different hierarchical levels; 2.1. Be able to analyze the socio-economic processes of large cities, identify their trends and, accordingly, determine the priority areas of social policy; 2.2. To have a regulatory and legal basis of social policy in order to select the means of its implementation in large cities; 3.1. Present an individual research project; 4.1. Carry out independent analytical, research and search activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Basic knowledge of the essence, role and importance of the socio-humanitarian sphere for provision life activities of society. Knowledge of basic concepts and concepts of modern sociology, political sciences, which students received as a result of studying sociology and political science. Knowledge of the main directions and priorities of state policy regarding development socio-humanitarian sphere and its reformation.
Course content
Social policy: concepts, directions, tasks. 2. Socio-economic principles of social policy. World models of social policy. 3. Social inequality and social order in urban space. 4. New trends of territorial development. The specifics of urban lifestyle. 5. Social policy and social protection of the population: legal aspects. 6. The standard of living of the population under the conditions of the development of a market economy. Social groups and local communities in cities. 7. Employment of the population, state of the labor market, reform of the system of pension provision and state social insurance. 8. Creative industries, cultural consumption and educational practices in a big city. 9. Modernization of the health care system in large cities. 10. New trends in housing policy and resident mobility. The impact of economic transformations and urbanization processes on the provision of the population housing 11. Waste management and urban infrastructure.
