1.1. Knowledge of contemporary theoretical discussion and interpretations on social inequality manifestations. 1.2. Knowledge both of the advanced contemporary methodologies of complex social inequality study, and of their heuristics and limitations. 2.1. Skills of justification of research methodology and development of research design on complex social inequality study. 2.2. Skills of diagnostic and interpretation of social inequality manifestations using the sociological methodology. 2.3. Skills of searching and analysis of empirical data on social inequality using of the modern theories, methodologies and databases. 3.1. Skills of working in international surround, reading the professional literature, academic writing and discussion. 4.1. Skills of independent and responsible designing of inequality research using the advanced methodologies and research experience of the Global Sociology.

Full-time form

1. To know the basic theories of social structure and stratification. 2. To be able to work with and analyze sociological data using mathematical tools. 3. To be able to work with academic texts in English.

Challenges of social inequalities to society and Sociology. Dilemmas of inequality; research strategies and methodologies. Multicriterial functional methodologies: complex inequality of status; inequality of human being (G. Thorborn). Neoinstitutional methodology: Capability approach (A.Sen, LSE). Methodologies of class and cross-sectional analysis. Gender dimension of the complex social inequalities.
