Learning outcomes
Know the main theoretical directions and approaches to the study of corporeality and sexuality in gender studies
Know the categorical specifics of sociological theories of corporeality and sexuality
Be able to use the methodology and conceptual and categorical apparatus of gender analysis in the study of corporeality and sexuality
Be able to justify the cognitive potential, advantages and disadvantages of interdisciplinary research on physicality and sexuality
Be able to analyze corporeality and sexuality with the help of sociological tools
Be able to carry out gender analysis of corporeality and sexuality
Demonstrate skills of reasoned presentation of one's own opinion, competent and tolerant discussion with opponents
Carry out independent analytical, research and exploration activities

Possess the conceptual apparatus of modern sociological and gender theory
Possess basic skills in the application of sociological methods
Course content
Actualization of body research in modern science. The body as the embodiment of social practices. Representations of culture and corporeality. The body as a product of power relations and the result of disciplinary regimes. Gendered bodies. Corporeality of masculinity and femininity. Body and consumption. Transformation of standards of corporality in the ХХ century.
The concept of "sexuality" in feminist and gender theory. The phenomenon of sexuality in the system of gender relations. Sexual violence: aspects of gender power . Sexuality as an institution. Regulatory and taboo sexual practices and sexual behavior. Sexuality and gender order. State policy of sexual regulation: Soviet and post-Soviet periods. Health and sexuality. Sex education.

Individual and group work in workshop - maximum 50/ minimum 30 points
