Learning outcomes
1. Have knowledge of sociological concepts, concepts, policy theories and methods for analysis and interpretation of political phenomena and processes, social problems and conflicts in Ukraine and the world in their modern and / or historical context.
2. Be able to independently search for and critically analyze and summarize political information from various sources.
3. Be able to prepare and present research results
4. Be able to use theoretical and empirical knowledge to study the effectiveness of political decisions for different social groups.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to effectively master the knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of sociology of politics, students master the basics of such disciplines as "Socio-Political Studies", "Theory and History of Sociology".
Course content
Sociology of politics: subject, methods and concepts.
1. Subject and history of sociology of politics.
2. Political space: experience and practice of sociological research.
3. Social structure of society and power.
4. Social groups as a subject of politics.
5. Parties and group interests in the power structure. Political culture: participation and behavior of social actors in politics.
6. Political and ideological identification of the citizens.
7. Political culture.
8. Psychology of the masses and mass political consciousness.
9. Electoral behavior.
10. The concept and content of political communication.
11. Sociological support of the election campaign.

3. Individual task 1 (review) RS 1.1, 1.2 - 10 points / 5 points
4. Individual task 2 (presentation "Basic models of electoral behavior") RS 2.1, 2.2 - 10 points / 5 points.
5. Individual task 3 (essay on the topic: "The main channels of political communication during the election campaign") RS 1.1, 1.2 - 10 points / 8 points.
6. Evaluation of work during seminars on topics 1-11 RS 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2 - 10 points / 8 points
final assessment - RS exam 2.1., 2.2
