Learning outcomes
1.1 To know the classical and modern theories of social structures, their conceptual apparatus, and strategies of socio-structural analysis.
1.2 To know the historical and current trends of structural change in societies.
1.3. To know the basic components of social structures and conceptual models of their study.
2.1. To be able to apply theories of social structure and structural change to identify and explain social processes through the prism of socio-structural manifestations and factors.
3.1. To present the results of individual work, reasonable participation in discussions.
4.1 Independent search, analysis and generalization of social information, substantiation of conclusions on socio-structural processes in Ukraine and the world.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the classical and basic modern sociological theories of society.
2. To be able to collect and analyze sociological information.
3. Critical analyzis of publications, theoretical texts, to summarize and substantiate empirical conclusions.
Course content
1. What does it mean to think structurally? Structural-analytical approach in modern sociology
2. The system of alternative interpretations of social structure: classical strategies.
3. Modern perspectives of socio-structural analysis.
4. Dimentions of social positions and statuses.
5. Socio-cultural parameters of the social structure.
6. Theories of inequalities and models of stratification.
7. Basic criteria for determining the structures of inequalities.
8. Class structures and methods of their study.
9. Structures of employment and professions.
10. Trends in socio-structural changes in modern societies.
