1. Know the basic principles of the essence, formation and development of sociology as a science that, in particular, contributed to the management processes in society.
2. Be able to use sociological ideas and basic sociological concepts and categories in the analysis of social phenomena and processes.
3. Presentation of personal opinion, discussion.
4. Autobiographical essay and its presentation.

І. Sociology as a science, research and management practice.
1 Introductory. The image of sociology in society.
2 The role of sociology in society.
3 Sociology as a profession. The main areas of professional activity of the sociologist. Professional features of a sociologist.
4 The concept of social life (basic social institutions; agents of socialization). Autoethnography: biographical features of the life of the future sociologist.
5 The concept of sociological and social research.
ІІ. General sociological theory - basic concepts.
6 Sociology as a science.
7 Concepts, features and types of society.
8 Social structure of society. Structural elements.
III. Society and governance.
9 The essence and characteristics of management. Sociology and management.
10 Manager as a profession. Sociologist-manager.
Professional trajectories.
11 The value of ethics for the formation of a modern specialist. Professional ethics of a sociologist.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Active work in seminars: 30 points (18 minimum points).
2. Execution of tests (cr): 15 points (8 minimum points).
3. Autobiographical essay: 15 points (10 minimum points).
Additional points: the student can get an additional 5 points for such work as: participation in the conference / published conference abstracts / certificate of online courses on the subject (online courses are pre-offered / agreed with the teacher). Types of work are not summarized, but are alternatives. Points are not required, they are excessive, as additional if the student wishes to increase the accumulated points.
Сonditions of admission to the final exam ((ticket contains two parts: test and two open questions) - 40 points. The minimum score for passing the exam (overall positive grade) is 24 points.
