Learning outcomes
Analyze the features of natural and anthropogenic systems and objects of the Earth's geosphere. Plan and carry out scientific experiments, write scientific papers by specialty. Demonstrate the ability to adapt and act in a new situation related to work in the specialty, the ability to generate new ideas in the field of Earth sciences. Model geospheric objects and processes, using cartographic and mathematical methods and geoinformation technologies.

Course content
The master's qualification work is an independent scientific study that reflects the results of acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills of conducting scientific research in a professional direction. It should correspond to the current level of professional knowledge, and its topic should be relevant.

Assessment methods and criteria
The defense procedure includes the student's oral presentation (up to 8 minutes), the student's answers to the questions of the committee members, a brief speech by the scientific supervisor with an assessment of the student's work, the announcement of the review of the work, and the student's responses to the reviewer's remarks. All components of the defense are assessed: • design and content of the bachelor's qualification work in a professional direction; • completeness of presentation of research results in the report; • mastery of the research topic when answering the questions of the members of the Examination Commission; • the reviewer's assessment and response to the reviewer's remarks; • feedback from the scientific supervisor. The final grade is given according to point and national scales.
