Learning outcomes
To know:
subject, theoretical foundations of the course, methodology of approach to multiculturalism in the context of globalisation;
basic concepts and terminology of multiculturalism;
principles of analysing the ethnic diversity of Ukraine and the world, the impact of multiculturalism on socio-cultural processes in Ukraine;
the latest mechanisms of counteracting intercultural conflict and discrimination.
To be able to:
demonstrate knowledge of specialised literature;
identify conflicts of cultural values, explain their causes and suggest solutions;
identify problems of the multicultural environment of modern Ukraine.
Communication:
to conduct a debate on intercultural conflict and tolerance in the context of globalisation and multicultural dialogue.
Autonomy and responsibility:
to be responsible for the accuracy and political and ideological impartiality of personal point of view, to respect alternative positions on controversial issues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know:
The main provisions of the courses "History of Foreign and Ukrainian Culture", "Aesthetics", "Ethics", "Philosophy", "Religious Studies".
2. Be able to:
Collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena, processes and events.
Apply the terms, categories and classifications of cultural studies in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena.
Identify current trends in the coexistence of cultures in the context of globalisation and predict their development.
3. To have:
Basic skills of scientific research and information discovery.
Critical attitude to socio-cultural reality and forecasting its development.
Use of foreign language professional cultural informative sources.

Part 1: Problems of multicultural existence in the modern world
Topic 1: Subject and objectives of the course "Man in a multicultural society"
Topic 2. Globalisation context of the functioning of a multicultural society
Topic 3. The problem of identity in the light of the conflict "our own - others"
Topic 4. Multiculturalism as a policy of recognition
Topic 5. The crisis of multiculturalism and the search for constructive forms of coexistence in the space of multiculturalism
Self-study No. 1 (consideration of the values of national cultures and examination of the universal principles of their dialogue in the context of globalisation)
Topic 6. Global ethics as a socio-cultural demand
