Learning outcomes
PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folklore, linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities.
PLO 20. Demonstrate basic knowledge of the theory of folklore, history of folklore, folk verbal and musical creativity, traditions of folk education, customary law for a comprehensive understanding of folk tradition.
PLO 22. Carry out a comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis of a folklore product.
PLO 25.2 Apply in practice the methodology of teaching Ukrainian literature in accordance with the requirements and needs in secondary school (specialization "Folklore and Ukrainian Studies in Modern School").

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to studying this discipline, students must complete the training courses of the СC. 13. Ukrainian folklore, СС.14. Mythology, СС. 15. World epic. Should know the specifics of mythological thinking, genre of folklore, mythological narratives of the peoples of the world, ritual practices.
Be able to summarize and summarize a large amount of information about ritual practices, identify categories of myths and ways of their origin, work with different sources of scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions.
Possess basic skills in analyzing mythological texts; searching for and processing folklore information.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics of the functioning of a folklore text, to teach students to analyze the ways and means of myth-making, the communicative aspect of the text, to identify mythologically suitable constructions, ways of their implementation and stratification.
Annotation. The discipline "Modern Mythmaking" is an important component of the training of specialists in the educational program "Folklore Studies, Ukrainian Language and Literature and Foreign Language" and is included in the elective component of primary disciplines. This course aims to develop students' understanding of the nature of myth-making, the ways in which myths emerge, and to show the evolution of ideas about myth and the context of myth-making. It will help to identify myths of different times and different vectors in order to identify the ways of their emergence and functioning.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The course ends with a test. The first part is an introduction to the basic mythological theories, terms and concepts; methods of studying myth and the rules of their application for the interpretation of mythological phenomena; the main stages of myth formation. The second part is the analysis of iconic mythological narratives; the development of mythological ideas in synchrony and diachrony, modern trends and approaches in mythology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the credit-rating system, which provides for the assessment of theoretical training (learning outcomes 1.1-1.5); assessment of practical training (learning outcomes 2.1-2.4); assessment of communication (learning outcomes 3.1-3.3). The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of written tests and individual works and during oral answers.
