Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students must complete educational courses СС 13. Ukrainian folklore, СС 09. History of folkloristics. Must know folklore genres, main schools, directions and approaches in folkloristics. Be able to identify genres of folklore, work with various sources, make generalizations and conclusions. To have basic skills of analysis of folklore sample; search and processing of folkloristic information.
Course content
Purpose of discipline - to study traditional forms of folk performance, features of group singing, basic singing styles, to find out the connection between the means of musical expressiveness of folk music and the form and context of its performance. Annotation. The educational discipline "Folk performance" is included in the disciplines of free choice of the student specializing in "Applied Folklore Studies". This discipline is designed to acquaint the student with the peculiarities of folk song and instrumental performance, to develop skills in the analysis of performance manner and musical styles.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 3 content parts. Classes are held in the form of lectures and practical classes. The first substantive part is the analysis of folk song performance. Students get acquainted with the theoretical issues of folk song performance, with the main singing traditions; in the second - analysis of instrumental performance. The third substantive part - familiarization with outstanding authentic and secondary performers and bands, study of modern forms of research of folk performance. Forms of education: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, practical classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (oral answer, individual task (presentation, essay)), intermediate control test, final test).
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - 50% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - 50% of the overall assessment . During the semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of assessment (oral answer, individual task, control work). The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored a minimum positive number of points – 60, receive – "enrolled". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points - 60 - receive - "not counted". Students who scored a total of less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent papers, or write a test paper in order to pass the test.
