Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the study of this discipline, students must complete educational courses Ukrainian folklore and History of folkloristics. Must know folklore genres, main schools, directions and approaches in folkloristics. Be able to work with various sources, make generalizations and conclusions, identify genres of folklore. Нave basic skills of folklore text analysis; search and processing of folkloristic information.
Course content
Purpose of discipline - to acquaint students with the history and current state of Ukrainian musical creativity, its genre system. To inculcate practical skills of analyzing musical forms and recognizing different time layers. Annotation. The educational discipline "Ukrainian folk musical creativity" is one of the key components of the training of specialists under the educational program "Folklore, Ukrainian language and literature and foreign language". The course is aimed at forming students' knowledge of Ukrainian folk music, patterns of its development, genre composition, features of performance and existence of each genre in the historical and cultural context, their genre structure and melodic composition, will help to understand the uniqueness and originality of traditional music.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. The first part is a general description of singing styles, regional specifics of singing traditions; analysis of musical samples of calendar and family rites, features of ceremonial (ritual) singing. The second - musical features of non-ceremonial folklore, analysis of lyrical-epic genres, social and family lyrics, specifics of everyday life and performance of various genres of musical folklore. Forms of education: lectures, practical classes, independent work. During the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, practical classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (oral response, individual task (presentation, essay)), intermediate control test, credit).
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for assessment of the material, theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) - 50% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility - 50% of the overall assessment . During the semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of assessment (oral answer, individual task, control work). The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored a minimum positive number of points 60, receive "enrolled". Students who didn't score the minimum positive number of points 60, receive "not counted". Students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester must prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing papers, or write a test paper.
