Learning outcomes
1. To have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own thoughts in a clear way, to make their arguments. 2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 4. To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 13. To present knowledge about culture according to the specialization of representatives of various professional groups and students. 16. To define, formulate and argue their own civic and professional position on topical social issues.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages of the development of the historical and cultural process; basic culturological theories and methods of cultural studies, methods of cultural philosophy, cultural anthropology, social ecology, everyday culture. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information regarding the analysis of environmental situations and phenomena in modern socio-cultural realities; apply basic principles and directions in the analysis of modern ecologically oriented practices; identify the features and role of cultural ecology and ecoethics in the preservation of natural and cultural heritage 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and integrated information on environmental realities; understanding of historical and cultural regularities regarding theoretical and practical issues of ecological protection phenomena and events in the conditions of globalization; the use of foreign-language informative sources.

Stages of development and methodological approaches of modern environmental ethics Theme 7. Ethical principles and ethical and environmental problems in international and domestic documents Topic 8. Basic principles of environmental ethics and their implementation in the activities of environmental movements Topic 9. Video ecology in the context of the modern eco-paradigm

1. Oral presentation, additions, participation in discussions at seminars: 25 / 40 points. 2. Test tasks: 3/8 points 3. self-study #1: Essay: 10 / 12 points. 4. self-study #2 Situational analysis (of the student's choice): 10 / 20 points. 5. Written test: 12 / 20 points. Final evaluation in the form of an exam: Written exam - 24 / 40 points.
