Learning outcomes
PRN 7. Understand the main problems of Hindi philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PRN 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of the Hindi language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PRN 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Hindi fiction and oral folk art, to determine their specificity and place in the literary process of India and Ukraine. PRN 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PRN 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, to be able to apply them in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must successfully master the following academic disciplines: "Introduction to Hindi philology", "Linguistic studies of India", "History of Hindi literature (ancient and classical periods)" and know: basic literary concepts; periodization of Indian history; history and culture of India in the main features; peculiarities of phonetics, vocabulary and grammar of the modern Hindi language; to be able to: apply literary concepts in practice; work with theoretical literature; to have elementary skills: selection, analysis and interpretation of literary works; communication on cultural topics.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with the best examples of Hindi fiction of the 20th century. through a socio-cultural reading and literary analysis of selected works, to give an idea of the process of origin, formation, formation, development and flowering of the short story genre in India in the 20th century, to outline the peculiarities and characteristic features of this process, as well as the place of Hindi short stories in the 20th century. in the system of world literature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (which synthesizes and independent work on processing theoretical material for classroom preparation: oral answers, additions, tests, defense of the presentation) and for independent work (preparation of a presentation, abstract). In case of absence from the seminar session, the student must complete the assignment for the seminar. All types of work for the semester have a total of: - in the maximum dimension - 60 points, - in the minimum dimension - 36 points. Final assessment: exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in clause 7.1. The discipline ends with an exam. Students who, during the semester, scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points, are not allowed to take the exam. Students who did not reach the cut-off grade level (36 points) during the semester must complete the missed topics in writing and submit/send them by e-mail to the teacher conducting the seminar in order to be admitted to the exam. The maximum grade for additional assessment forms cannot exceed 40% of the 8 final grade (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale). The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of education and obtained in the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the algorithm: max. 60 points (60%) – semester control and max. 40 points (40%) – exam.
