Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and technologies, IT in particular, for the successful and effective professional activity and quality research within the Hindi philology. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in the field of Hindi philology to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the professional disciplines "Basics of Translation theory (Hindi)", "Basics of Translation practice (Hindi)", "Stylistics of Hindi", "Hindi Business communication", "Translation theory and methodology (Hindi)". To know Hindi at a sufficient level; basic linguistic concepts; principles of the analysis of language material; basic principles and concepts of translation theory; basics of communication theory. To be able: to translate texts of general topics from Hindi to Ukrainian and from Ukrainian to Hindi; to use translation dictionaries; to apply linguistic tools in practice; to have elementary skills of selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts, communication on linguistic and scientific and technical topics.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics and features of oral and written translation of scientific and technical texts, to master the main array of vocabulary and phraseology used during the translation of scientific and technical texts, and to acquire skills in their practical application.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes aimed at developing students' skills in oral and written translation of the specified types of texts and self-study of students. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral survey and the organization of written tasks,translation exercises, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral testing, written tasks, translation exercises - 36/60 points, modular test papers - 12/20 points, final test paper - 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 - failed.
