Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have confident knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 5. To find optimal ways of the effective interaction in a team of professionals and with the representatives of other professional groups on different levels. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of various styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of іntersubject links: English, theory of translation from English. Students must speak English at a level not lower than B2, as well as know the theory of translation, be able to practically apply modern translation methods, possess elementary skills to apply theoretical knowledge of translation theory. Bases of practices are determined annually.
Course content
TThe purpose of the translation practice (English) without attending classes is to consolidate the knowledge gained in the classes on the theory and practice of translation, practical application of modern translation methods.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Participation in an instructional conference on translation practice. Acquaintance with the base of translation practice. Regular consultations with the head of the translation practice. Translation of texts. Editing of the translated texts. Preparation of reporting documentation. Participation in the final conference.
Assessment methods and criteria
Translation of texts – max. 30 points, compilation of assessment documentation, practice diary, participation in the discussion of practice results – max. 10 points. Defence of reporting documentation – max. 10 points.
