PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and technologies, IT in particular, for the successful and effective professional activity and quality research within the Hindi philology. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in the field of Hindi philology to solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements.

Distance form

Successful mastering of the professional disciplines "Basics of Translation theory (Hindi)", "Basics of Translation practice (Hindi)", "Stylistics of Hindi", "Hindi Business communication", "Translation theory and methodology (Hindi)". Knowledge of traditional approaches to oral and written translation. Possession of oral and written Hindi-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Hindi two-way translation skills.

The goal of the academic discipline is the comprehensive development of linguistic, sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, ethnocultural and pragmatic components of translation and communicative competence, which is objectively reflected by a high professional level of performance of various forms and types of translation, branching out into the spheres and situations of oral and written speech activity the translator as a communicator-mediator. The main attention is paid to the formation of skills and abilities of Hindi-Ukrainian translation in the medical field.

The discipline provides only practical classes aimed at developing students' skills in oral and written translation of the specified types of texts. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral survey and the organization of written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, modular control works.

Semestral assessment is based on the oral answers, written tasks, lexical dictations, translation exercises - 24/40 points, modular test papers - 12/20 points. Final evaluation in the form of exam: max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, the examinational task consists of three questions, viz. 1) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Hindi into Ukrainian; 2) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Ukrainian to Hindi; 3) oral survey of learned vocabulary. Students who in total scored less than 36 points during the semester are not allowed to pass the exam.
