Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students must have a sufficient level of linguistic and philological competence within the three-year course of study for the OKR "Bachelor", know the structure of linguistics, its theoretical foundations, orient themselves in the main linguistic concepts and categories, theoretical postulates and directions of linguistics, in the history of the formation and development of linguistic science, operate freely with linguistic terminology and have the skills to analyze speech and language material.
Course content
The discipline "General linguistics" is designed to acquaint students with the main trends in linguistics, with approaches, methods and epistemes that have developed within the framework of three main paradigms in linguistics: comparative-historical, structural-systemic and anthropological. Within the framework of the discipline, attention is paid not only to the theoretical and categorical apparatus developed within the framework of various theories and concepts of linguistics, but also to the formation of students' practical skills in the analysis of language and speech material using the methods used in various paradigms of linguistic knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written survey, presentation preparation, control work with open answers. Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the learned material, in particular, the evaluation of theoretical training - learning results, which makes up 40% of the total grade, and the evaluation of practical training - learning results, which makes up 60% of the total grade.
