Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses: Introduction to Translation Studies, Translation Theory, History of Translation, Practice in Oral and Written Translation, etc. Understanding the fundamental categories of translation and general principles of written and oral translation.
2. Ability to apply basic translation transformations adequately.
3. Proficiency in the English language at a level not lower than C1 and proficiency in the Ukrainian language at a level not lower than C2.
Course content
The academic discipline "Two-Way Consecutive Interpretation (English Language)" is an elective course within the block of "Written and Oral Specialized Translation (German/Spanish/Italian/Portuguese/French languages, English language)." Along with other disciplines in the "Two-Way Consecutive Interpretation (English Language)" block, it contributes to preparing students for professional translation activities in the field of oral translation. The discipline familiarizes students with the main types of oral translation, the specifics of bilateral consecutive translation, and the peculiarities of its implementation in various translation situations. It develops the competence of future translators necessary for performing various types of consecutive translation and enhances general translation skills and abilities.

Practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Continuous assessment includes practical session responses, analysis reports on scientific literature, open-response control work, and two-way consecutive interpretation. The final assessment is through a credit. Evaluation criteria are outlined in the course program.
