PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian and English in oral and written forms, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian and English. PLO 21. Know the approaches to evaluating and ensuring the quality of copywriting, rewriting and speechwriting. PLO 23. Make, edit and translate written and oral texts of political or business discourse (Ukrainian and English).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the basic principles of successful communication and practical rhetoric, possess basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature. Be able to use vocabulary flexibly, possess the general norms of Ukrainian oral literary speech, have a sufficient level of linguistic competence and language culture. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; analysis of rhetorical political texts; production of complex oral and written messages; interaction and cooperation in learning in situations of a diverse nature.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the formation of students' rhetorical knowledge and skills in the political sphere. The academic discipline is a component of the elective block "Political Linguistics". The task of the course is an in-depth study by students of the theoretical foundations and practical skills of speaking, in particular in the format of oral public speaking in the political sphere. The discipline is considered in connection with related linguistic and non-linguistic sciences: lexicology, phraseology, phonetics, syntax, stylistics, general linguistic and literary studies, psycholinguistics, eristics, etc. Issues of rhetoric as a science and as an art of words, features of the relationship between language and thinking, logic and thinking are highlighted. Special attention is paid to mastering different methods of working with the audience in the political sphere, to the technique and expressiveness of speech, the strategy and tactics of successful oral public speaking in politics and public space. The techniques of diction, breathing, expressiveness of intonation are improved.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (homework, additions, test) and for independent work (writing an individual creative task, studying scientific literature). All types of work for the semester have a total of: 60 points in the maximum dimension, 36 points in the minimum. The final number of points for the discipline (max. 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final assessment (exam). Admission to the exam requires the student to successfully complete assignments and work throughout the semester. Therefore, the final grade for the discipline (min. 60, max. 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (min. 36, max. 60 points) and the final grade - the exam (min. 24, max. 40 points)
