PLO 1 To communicate fluently with specialists and non-specialists in Ukrainian and English orally and in writing, use these languages for effective intercultural communication.
PLO 20 To translate and interpret English into Ukrainian and Ukrainian into English.
PLO 22 To be able to edit and correct texts of various styles and genres in Ukrainian and English.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the following courses: “Introduction to Linguistics”, “Introduction to Translation Studies”, “Practical Course of English”, “Interpreting Political Discourse” (Semester 5/6); Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics, basic categories of translation studies, the Ukrainian language (C2 level) and the English language (B2 level);
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to form and develop the basic skills of an interpreter that are necessary for the implementation of professional interpreting activities while working in the field of political linguistics. This discipline prepares students to carry out professional interpreting activities while working with texts of political discourse, to differentiate their main sub-styles and genres. Teaching and assessment are provided in English and Ukrainian. The program is built on a combination of traditional and communicative methods. The fifth semester ends with the midpoint evaluation. And the sixth semester ends with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum score for the seventh semester is 100 points: the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test.
The eighth semester ends with an exam. The maximum score in the second semester is 60. The minimum score is 36.
Assessment criteria:
answers during practical classes – max. 14 points;
written assignments – max. 14 points;
a group project – max. 12 points;
tests – max. 20 points
The course ends with an exam – 24/40.
