Learning outcomes
PR04. Know the legal and ethical norms for evaluating professional activity, developing and implementing socially significant environmental projects in the conditions of conflicting requirements. PR08. Be able to clearly and unambiguously convey professional knowledge, own justifications and conclusions to specialists and the general public. PR13. Be able to assess the potential impact of man-made objects and economic activities on the environment. PR14. Apply new approaches to developing a decision-making strategy in complex, unpredictable conditions. PR15. Assess environmental risks under conditions of insufficient information and conflicting requirements. PR16. Choose the optimal management and/or nature management strategy depending on environmental conditions. PR20. To have the basics of carrying out environmental studies and ecological expert assessment of the impact on the environment.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basics of nature protection legislation of Ukraine, orient yourself in the categories of objects of the nature reserve fund. 2. To be familiar with the concept of sustainable development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 3. Have skills: independent work with reference literature, work with a PC.
Course content
The discipline has an applied direction and is designed to teach how to organize economic, expert and scientific research activities related to strategic spatial planning, environmental requirements for starting types of economic activities that will potentially have a significant impact on the environment, and monitoring of such activities. The discipline examines strategic environmental assessment and environmental impact assessment procedures, mechanisms for involving the public and representatives of the expert environment in such procedures, ways of contesting the issuing or non-issuance of environmental impact assessment conclusions.
