Learning outcomes
PLO3. Use the knowledge about regularities of random phenomena, their properties, and operations on them, about models of random processes and modern software environments for solving some problems of statistical data processing and predictive models construction. PLO8. Apply system analysis of objects, processes, and systems to problems of analysis, forecasting, management, and design of dynamic processes in macroeconomic, technical, technological, and financial objects.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully learn the discipline «Ecological and economic processes and their modeling» the student's academic level must meet the following requirements: tо know standard courses of mathematical analysis, differential equations, numerical methods materials; be able to: set and solve optimization problems; work with matrices; find functions with extreme values; solve and investigate differential equations and systems, in particular, using numerical methods; to possess: basic skills of model construction, and work with statistical information.
Course content
Familiarization with: basic principles of most microeconomics and macroeconomics widespread mathematical models (consumption and production theories; economic agents market interaction; static and dynamic balance models; economic growth and investments distribution models) construction and research; basic principles of the most widespread population dynamics mathematical models, various types of modeling of interaction between populations, use of these principles for independent construction and research of the corresponding models; ecological and economic interaction modeling (different approaches to modeling; balance and optimization models; simulation modeling), as well as familiarization with examples of their application for practice, in particular – to predict the dynamics of specific phenomena.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment during the semester: The maximum number of available points is 100. Laboratory work no 1 – 20/12 points. Laboratory work no 2 – 20/12 points. Laboratory work no 3 – 20/12 points. Laboratory work no 4 – 20/12 points. Laboratory work no 5 – 20/12 points. Final assessment in the test form: Credit points are defined as the sum of grades/points for all learning outcomes successfully assessed, provided by this program. The minimum threshold for the all components total assessment is 60% of the maximum points possible.
