Learning outcomes
PRN 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in national and foreign languages (Arabic and French) orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PRN 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity. PRN 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (Arabic and French) languages. PRN 12. Analyze Arabic language units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PRN 20. Demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Arabic and Ukrainian).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the professional disciplines "Arabic language: intermediate level", "Fundamentals of Arabic translation theory", "Fundamentals of Arabic translation practice", "Linguistic studies of the countries of the Arab East". Knowledge of linguistic terminology and basic laws of language development (from the course "Fundamentals of Linguistics"); Knowledge of Arabic grammatical terminology to the extent necessary for identification and analysis of grammatical phenomena;
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form students a general idea about the peculiarities of translation of various types of media texts, to acquaint them with the thematic specifics of Arabic-language media discourse, to develop relevant skills in the field of Arabic-Ukrainian two-way translation.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in clause 7.1. The discipline ends with an exam. Students who, during the semester, scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points, are not allowed to take exam 7. Students who did not reach the cut-off grade level (36 points) during the semester must complete the missed topics in writing and submit/send them by e-mail to the teacher conducting the seminar in order to be admitted to the exam. The maximum mark for additional assessment forms cannot exceed 40% of the final mark (up to 40 points on a 100-point scale). The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of education and obtained in the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the algorithm: max. 60 points (60%) – semester control and max. 40 points (40%) – exam.
