Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the main theoretical principles and methods of studying the components of the geographical environment and human influence on them. 2. Know the basic principles of physics that determine the acoustic, optical, mechanical and other features of landscapes that are perceived by human sensory organs. 3. Know the possibilities of mathematical statistics for processing, generalization and synthesis of information about human perception of geographical phenomena. 4. To be able to establish the nature of relationships between the causes, consequences and ways of solving geoecological problems.
Course content
This educational discipline is devoted to the study of the basic regularities of sensory perception of the landscape, the mechanisms of cognitive processing of information about geographical phenomena, the formation of the image of a place, landscape, region, the formation of stereotypes of regions, cities and other geographical spatial objects. The discipline "Perceptual Geography" is aimed at students' assimilation of knowledge and practical skills in the application of concepts and methods of cognitive and social psychology to study the perception of geographical spatial phenomena by people and social groups - place, landscape, regions of various types, cities, etc., as well as dynamic processes in the geographical environment , in particular natural disasters and anthropization of space.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral survey, blitz survey, tests, presentations, discourse. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam).
