LO05. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of geographical sciences. LO06. Apply models and methods of physics, chemistry, geology, ecology, mathematics, information technologies, etc. when studying natural and social processes of formation and development of geospheres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Soil science", "Geomorphology", "Global environmental problems", "Hydrology and oceanology", "Cartography with the basics of topography", "Biogeography", "Basics of geoecology"/ 2. To be able to establish the nature of relationships between landscape components. 3. To know the main components of the landscape, approaches and methods of their characterization and field description. 4. To be able to give a comprehensive description of the landscapes of the territory, to carry out the selection and critical analysis of information and cartographic data sources. 5. To know the basic quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, to be able to apply them in production and research activities. 6. To be able to model objects and processes, using modern quantitative and qualitative methods and geo-information technologies.
Course content
This educational discipline is dedicated to the study of the main techniques, approaches and methods of modern landscape research. It is designed to give an idea of ​​the full cycle of physical-geographical research, starting from the collection of data and information and ending with the presentation of results.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, independent work, practical session.
Assessment methods and criteria
The survey in test and written form is conducted after the completion of the teaching of each topic. Practical work is defended by performance, in accordance with the schedule of practical classes. Modular control works (MCR) are conducted in test form. Students who received less than the minimum prescribed number of points for the MKR will retake it. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24
