LO02. Know and understand the main types of geographic activity, their division. LO05. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of geographical sciences. LO06. Use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models in the field of geographical sciences. LO07. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope and its components.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Be able to organize a complex search, impartial analysis and interpretation of historical sources (both in Ukrainian and foreign languages); use modern information and technological resources in educational activities.
Course content
The discipline examines the main stages and periods of the history of geographical discoveries and events, acquaintance with outstanding travelers who played the most important role in the history of the study of the nature of the Earth and its population

Assessment methods and criteria
The overall grade in the discipline consists of current grades that the student receives during seminar classes, tasks for independent work, written tasks of intermediate and final control. The recommended minimum for admission is 30 points. For students who scored a total of less than 30 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in a written format. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 30 points.
