Develop projects, draw up maps and prepare data using computer technologies, geographic information systems and digital photogrammetry. To have the methods of organization of topographic-geodetic and land management production from field measurements to management and implementation of topographic and land management products based on the use of knowledge of the basics of legislation and production management.

The discipline "Municipal GIS" occupies one of the basic places in the preparation of a specialist at the educational and qualification level "bachelor", as it is a discipline that provides and deepens knowledge of the basics of the science of geoinformation systems, defines the main directions of GIS analysis and modeling (natural and social) phenomena and processes occurring on the territory of municipal entities, teaches methods of analyzing relationships between components of geosystems of different hierarchical levels (river basin, tract, facies), characterizes the main directions of theory and methods of decision support. It is taught in the 5th and 6th semesters.

Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: performance of 12 practical works (where students must demonstrate the quality of the acquired knowledge and solve the tasks using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher) and performance of coursework. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam.
