Prerequisites and co-requisites
2.1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "International environmental agreements", "Polluting substances in the geographical environment", "Environmental standards and criteria environmental quality", "Geoecological Foundations of Sustainable Development". 2.2. Know the essence of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and its main provisions Paris Agreement; peculiarities of the formation of greenhouse gases in industrial and rural sectors economy and the housing and communal sector of Ukraine (water supply, drainage, solid household waste management, transport systems); principles and methods ensuring sustainable development of territories; 2.3. Be able to find the necessary information on the Internet and analyze it received information with regard to international environmental cooperation; communicate in a foreign language; 2.4. Possess elementary skills of complex geoecological analysis problems from the angle of economic and social factors and use
Course content
The main content of the discipline is based on introducing students to the basics of importing advanced technologies in the field of environmental protection,general principles of technological solutions and processes for the transition to more modern ones low-carbon technologies offered by economically developed countries within the framework international technical assistance to developing countries. Academic discipline involves promoting the introduction of technologies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change using a complex of interdisciplinary data on the best available technologies for the adaptation of agricultural sectors, agricultural production, water management and waste management to new climatic ones conditions The materials provide an opportunity to study the best available technologies in the specified areas and determine the technological priorities of the leading sectors of the economy of Ukraine for mitigation consequences of climate change and adaptation to new climatic conditions. Students will familiarized with the best available practices for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, provisions of the Strategy for Low-Carbon Development (SCDR), the role of the UN, and intergovernmental organizations programs and institutions and other related international organizations whose activities are directed on mitigating climate change and achieving the declared Sustainable Development Goals and nationally determined contributions under the Paris Agreement.
