Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Biogeography", "Geology", "Soil science",
"Cartography with the basics of topography", "Geomorphology", "Basics of geoecology",
"Physical geography of continents and oceans", "Landscape science", "Geographic
information systems", "Environmental monitoring".
2. To be able to establish the nature of relationships between causes and consequences
soil degradation in different countries of the world.
3. To be able to analyze the negative consequences of irrational land use
positions of international cooperation in the field of land protection.
4. To know the theoretical foundations of land relations in the world, research algorithm
environmental condition of global land resources for their protection and
effective use.
5. To know modern quantitative and qualitative methods of geographical research, methodology
monitoring and land protection, determination of maximum permissible standards
concentrations of pollutants in the soil, etc.
Course content
This academic discipline
devoted to the study of theoretical and practical aspects of evaluation, use
and protection of land resources, causes of land degradation in the world, principles and
modern methods used in geographical research, as well as
formation of skills and abilities to solve current problems in the field
optimization of use and protection of global land resources. Discipline
"Land cover and land resources of the world" is aimed at deepening
theoretical knowledge regarding the disclosure of the essence of the soil as the main component
land resources, the formation of students of special professional,
social and personal competences, accumulation of knowledge about the possibility
critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, the ability to search, process and
analyze information from various sources, the ability to determine, formulate and
solve problems in the field of natural geography and land protection
resources.
Separate components of the discipline are the study of land valuation methods
resources of the world; methods of combating land degradation and desertification; principles
rational use and protection of land from adverse effects
anthropogenic and technogenic factors; ways of implementing sustainable development
use and protection of land resources in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
development The functional block of the discipline involves mastering the following
components, such as the ability to apply basic knowledge of natural sciences and
information technologies in planning measures for soil protection, ability
apply quantitative and qualitative methods of assessment of land resources independently
to research and analyze the importance of land resources in human life and theirs
