Course content
Abstract of the educational discipline: the educational discipline "Fundamentals of hydrology and
of oceanology" is dedicated to the study of the main sections of hydrology (land hydrology and
oceanology); general physical processes in the hydrosphere, its structure, properties;
interconnectedness and interdependence of the hydrosphere with the atmosphere, lithosphere; water circulation
on Earth; basic physical and geographical patterns of formation, nutrition and regime
land water bodies of various types (rivers, lakes, swamps, glaciers, underground waters) and
patterns of processes taking place in the World Ocean; information about
water, thermal, ice regime, formation of the chemical composition of Earth's waters, meaning
river waters and their use; mineral, energy and biological resources of the World
ocean, attention is also paid to consideration of important issues - the importance of water in
functioning of ecosystems, monitoring of land and ocean water pollution, methods
study and research of water bodies on land and the World Ocean and modern hydro-ecology
