Learning outcomes
PLO 10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Persian and English) languages. PLO 12. To analyze Persian linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them. PLO 18. To have skills in managing complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in the professional field activities in the field of Iranian studies, as well as translation activities, and to be responsible for making decisions in the unpredictable conditions. PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Persian and Ukrainian).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the practical course of the Persian language during three years of study, as well as the disciplines: "Basics of translation theory", " Basics of translation practice", "Translation practice".
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to develop students' skills in oral and written Persian-Ukrainian two-way translation based on knowledge of the basic principles of the general and partial theory of translation. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a practical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes, designed for active work of students in the classroom and aimed at further development of translation skills in oral and written translation of the mentioned types of texts. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of oral questioning and the organization of listening tasks, tests, translation exercises, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, written works, lexical dictations, and translation exercises – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and proposes: 1) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Persian into Ukrainian; 2) written translation of an unfamiliar text from Ukrainian into Persian; 3) oral survey of learned vocabulary. Students who scored less than 36 points in total during the semester are not allowed to take the exam.
