Course content
This academic discipline is devoted to study
general sources of obtaining objective, scientific geographical information, principles and
modern methods of solving the main problems in the plane of the subject area of knowledge
natural geography. The discipline is aimed at the formation of special students
professional, social and personal competences, accumulation of knowledge about the possibility
critical thinking, analysis and synthesis, ability to search, process and analyze information
from various sources, the ability to identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of natural sciences
geography Separate components of the discipline are the study of scientific publications (articles in professional
publications, monographs, etc.), cartographic materials, field and laboratory results
research, data of remote sensing of the Earth as the main sources of obtaining reliable
information about the environment.
The functional block of the discipline involves the mastery of such components as ability
apply basic knowledge of natural sciences, the ability to apply simple quantitative and
qualitative methods in the study of geosystems, the ability to independently investigate and analyze
spatio-temporal changes in the parameters of geocomponents for the purposes of successful follow-up
professional activity.
The educational discipline "Educational practice on methods of acquiring geographic information" is
one of the components of comprehensive training of the educational and professional program "Transborder
environmental cooperation" specialty 106-"Geography".
