Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Use the Ukrainian language as the state language in all spheres of public life, in particular in professional communication and to organise effective intercultural communication. PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, critically analyse and interpret it, organise, classify and systematise. PLO 5. Cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. Apply philological knowledge to solve professional problems. PLO 7. Use information and communication technologies, in particular, to solve standard tasks of professional activity. PLO 17. Use the first foreign language in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in various spheres of life. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines "Introduction to translation studies", "Practical course of the first foreign language", "Practice of written and oral translation", "Genre-stylistic aspect of translation of texts from the first foreign language", "Translational analysis of the text", "Stylistics of the first foreign language" . Possess an adequate vocabulary and have knowledge of the grammar and stylistics of the first foreign language to the extent provided by the programs of the relevant disciplines. To know the main theoretical positions, specifics and problems of translation studies as a science. Be able to create oral and written texts in national and foreign languages, apply translation transformations in practice; abstract and annotate texts of the relevant subject. Be able to use the latest sources of information to search for professional vocabulary and terminology.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to develop the skills and abilities of translation activities for the implementation of written translation of scientific and technical, political, socio-economic, popular science, economic, banking, journalistic texts, audiovisual and oral translation from a foreign language into Ukrainian; arrangement of corpuses of parallel texts. Structure of translation practice. Preparatory stage: Orientation meetings, introduction to the general manager of the translation practice, presentation of managers from language sections, study of regulatory documents. The main stage: written or oral sequential translation; abstracting and annotating texts; compiling a glossary; compilation of corpuses of parallel texts; preparation of a written translation according to established standards. Final stage: preparation of reporting materials on translation practice; protection of translation practice; submission of reporting documentation to the person responsible for translation practice for verification and evaluation.

Orientation meetings; independent work; consultations with the head of the internship; defense of the internship.
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of student assessment: Participation in an instructional conference, drawing up an individual plan for translation practice - 5 points. Written / oral translation of texts - 20 points. Referencing and annotating texts - 10 points. Compilation of the glossary - 20 points. Compilation of corpuses of parallel texts - 20 points Report - 5 points. Final evaluation in the form of practice defense: the maximum number of points in the defense is 20 points; the minimum number of points that are added to previously received points is 12 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for protection); Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 40 points, are not allowed to defend their practice. The recommended minimum for admission to defense is 48 points.
